About the DNS Internet Glossary The DNS Internet Glossary was created because there was limited information available on the Internet that related to DNS, and other Internet related terminology. Furthermore, upon reviewing countless, glossaries available on the Internet, it was discovered that there is also a significant amount of mis-information about certain terms and their corresponding definitions. The DNS Internet Glossary was created by Blair Bergum in 2003. It is composed of acronyms and definitions of terms that are in the following domain: Cyberlaw, DNS, Domain Names, ICANN, Internet, Web Design, Web Hosting. This is why it was named the DNS Internet Glossary, because it is comprised of those terms one will come across when studying and researching both DNS and the Internet, how it works, the laws that effect it, domain names and that process of registration, web development, and everything in between. We hope that you will find the DNS Internet Glossary a valued resource in understanding the subject of DNS and how it is instrumental and a necessary function of the Internet. You may also want to view the DNS FlowChart so you will have a better understanding on the processes involved in DNS resolution and how the DNS system works. We appreciate your feedback to our glossary. For feedback, please email to dnsnews@DNSnews.net. For additions or corrections to this glossary, please send email to glossary@DNSnews.net |
